Associate Attorney
Responsibilities:
- Provide support and leadership to paralegals.
- Provide coverage for attorneys on vacation and leave of absence.
- Assist with the maintenance of casework quality and consistency on the assigned team(s).
- Evaluate cases and assist in providing case strategies and/or solutions to issues.
- Guide client through processes.
- Liaise with other attorneys in the firm on case strategy and development of office processes.
- Conduct a comprehensive review of filings.
- Provide supervision of other employees, as required.
- Perform legal research and prepare legal memoranda and/or legal briefs.
- Analyze fact patterns and complex legal issues to provide sound legal advice.
- Prepares immigration-based filings for complex case management.
- Prepare for and participate in a litigation practice.

- Qualifications Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to speak/write/read fluently in Spanish.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team in a collaborative workspace.
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and ability to learn web-based applications.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent time-management skills and the ability to successfully multi-task and prioritize.

- Ability to work with people from a variety of backgrounds and in adverse situations.
- Ability to effectively litigate before the Immigration Court, Board of Immigration Appeals, State Courts and Federal Courts.
- Perform legal research and prepare legal memoranda and/or legal briefs.
- Analyze facts, patterns, and complex legal issues to provide sound legal advice.
- Prepare immigration-based filings for complex case management.
Experience Required:
- 2-4 years experience working as a family and removal defense immigration attorney or immigration Law Clerk.
Education requirements
- J.D. degree and must be licensed to practice law in the U.S.
